Like Strawberry Ice-cream....

.... Mont Blanc at 6am. Yesterday I saw that a high road had been opened to the café at Alpe de Chaux so drove up it early this morning on another abortive attempt to find black grouse displaying. However I was pleased to see this unusual view of Mont Blanc, the highest, and therefore the first, mountain to be lit by the sun. The morning light was fantastic again, the whole range of peaks that mark our closest border with France were briefly illuminated too (extra). Not quite as dramatic as yesterday’s “Mountain Light” but as we are heading back into a rainy spell with the foehn wind gusting tonight, I think another pink mountain is allowed.
