The First Poppy of the Year

No matter where I sprinkle the seeds at the end of the season, these giant  poppies come up wherever they want to. This one, for instance, is in the middle of the garlic bed. I'm not sure it's good for the garlic to be crowded by volunteer flowers, but it's too gorgeous to pull out, so there it stands.
