Another locomotive in N Scale

Today I put my new Union Pacific GTEL 4500 Standard Turbine #55 on the layout.  I ordered it long ago from ScaleTrains.  It arrived a few weeks ago, but I had made a promise to myself to finally clean the track and turnouts before running it.  So I postponed work on the S scale carpentry shop and went to work on the N scale layout track.  Once that was done, I cleaned all of the locomotive wheels in my collection.  I hate to admit how long that has waited.  I always tried to clean everything once or twice a year but it has been several years and things were not running that well.  So I cleaned all the wheels.

Finally I got the new turbine out of the box and it ran perfectly.  Full sound and many sounds that frankly I do not yet know what they are from.  The detail on the locomotive and fuel tender is amazing.  TINY grab bars, etc etc.  These people at ScaleTrains really know their stuff.  It came to the UP in 1952.

This is the one loco I have wanted for a long time to "complete" the collection for now.  I sold off a bunch of n scale freight cars as I just had too many.  That paid for the locomotive that will get plenty of use.

That scene will look better once I get the city constructed and the meat plant and stock yard as well. For a non-meat eater sort of ironic.
