Navigational Challenge

Today we were Orienteering ..... yes even in the pouring rain! Although I did doubt my sanity in venturing out. It was a middle distance race which is a shorter course with lots of controls and changes of direction. 

Car parking was the first challenge and we arrived to take one of the few remaining spaces. People who arrived later had to find a parking place on the narrow approach roads...not ideal! 

Waterproof jacket worn to keep the worst of the wet on the outside. Having not Orienteered in technical terrain for over a year I took it steady and used a compass on every leg. This really paid off and reduced errors. Delighted to be third overall and first lady on my course.

Donned lots of layers after my run to stay warm. It must have been wet as Jet was reluctant to leave the car for a walk.
