Odd Choice

I resisted the craving for an hour but eventually gave in and raided the freezer for a mini Magnum. It was an odd choice given the ambient temperature of the house and the outside temperature - feeling like 3°.

It is one of those cheerless days when even the rain hasn’t the energy to be anything more than a dispiriting drizzle.
It was not always so dull and gloomy, but only the larks got to enjoy that.

I was perforce a lark, checking out the city boundaries before breakfast ( toast and the new homemade marmalade) and afterwards checking in with daughter#1 down from Covid ridden Moray to man the gallery in Dundas Street.
It seems that half the pupils at Elgin Academy which my grandchildren attend have tested positive for the virus.
I think some parts of Scotland have until now felt complacent at the lack of infection compared to that of the Central Belt but now things have evened out. Just a pity it is only 10 days until more restrictions are due to be lifted in Scotland.
