Red Dress Day

Yesterday was Red Dress Day to raise awareness about Missing and Murdered Indigenous Women and Girls and 2SLGBTQIA+. I didn't get a chance to look for anything yesterday, so I was pleased to see this down Xwaaqw'um. Blankets are often given to honour someone or are given away at potlatches, and I thought it was very fitting to place it on the hands of the female welcoming pole along with a woven cedar bracelet. 
We had a good walk before the rain came, and the wind wasn't as cold. Looking forward to some warmer weather.
