A lot more water under the bridge

The burn that passes through Reelig Glen has got much fuller and noisier since a few days ago - the result of so much wintry and wet weather! The waterfalls were more impressive again too.

I've done a blip previously of the the stone grotto and arch in this part of the glen, but I don't think I'd managed to include a shot of the old stone bridge that's right beside them. All of these features were built in the 19th century by the local landowner, the Reelig Fraser family. I gather the bridge is unusual for it's very flattened arch shape. You shouldn't walk over it these days: there's a more modern and safe wooden one, which is where I stood to take this.

I was a bit too late with the camera, but moments before I took this, my dog decided to walk over the old bridge and stop in the middle as if she was posing for me. I wish I'd been quicker! The funny thing is, she's actually a bit nervous of water and going over bridges....maybe she's getting more adventurous in her middle age, like me.

I've put in an extra of some amazing moss-coated branches in the Glen, (that made me think of scenes in Sci-Fi movies), and one of a branch of fresh green baby pine cones.
