Gidgee Skink

Today is a hot one!! I visited my old work place this morning - The Alice Springs Desert Park and walked around visiting all the animals I used to see and work with on a daily basis.

In one of the new walk through bird aviaries they now have these Gidgee Skinks on display. I used to try and sneak up on these guys when they were off-display trying so hard to get a good shot of them, but they were so shy that as soon as they saw me coming they'd shoot back into their hollow logs not to be seen again for quite some time! This guy was much more chilled out and quite the poser!

Tonight we are heading out to the Juicy Rump for dinner and drinks with some of the Park crew and other friends still left in Alice. Looking forward to seeing some familiar faces :)
