2000'ish
It's probably fitting that I post this photo today shot from a plane, as my 2000'ish blip. I've missed many days (yet to be back blipped), but life, as it is for us all, is pretty busy, And after 2000'ish blips, I no longer feel the same pressure to post every day religiously. A few days later, yeah that's fine ;-)
Like the last week, just back blipped a few days of my trip to Salt Lake City in US. I was there for a conference, but squeezed a few ski days in as well.
Got up early, did a little shopping, and spent quite a bit of time at the Mormon temples. Had a very nice chat to an older guy, Ben, who had been a missionary to the UK (and thought I was from there). Apparently 15 million people a year visit Utah just to see the temples, amazing. Clearly we need to build more temples in NZ.
And now I am on the big mission home,. Left Salt lake at 2.15, arrived LA 2 hrs later, currently in LA for 7 hrs, then 12 -13 to NZ, then 2 more layover in Auckland, then 1.5 home. Air travel is mad, on many levels. If I add that up it means maybe 24 hours before I am home from my departure, and I've already been up all day, hopefully I'll sleep!
So, to Blip ... I've been here a while. 2000'ish blips in fact. I've been a sporadic commenter, my life is rather busy, but the process of recording a photo every day has become important to me, It's a record of who I, and my family are. It's truly priceless and worth every minute invested. Sure, like many others there are times I think it's too much, and with my life it would be easy to call it quits. But that's not about to happen, I don't think ;-)
My only regret? Was that I had more time to take better photos, to spend more time commenting and to be part of the community, I am sure one day that may happen.
Cheers to you all, especially the Blip crew. You know you made awesome place.
Oh yep, shot from a plane leaving Salt lake City Utah, look closely you'll see the lake (obviously), Salt lake City, and if you're really good, Alta and Snowbird. Two of the best ski areas on the planet.
Boarding call, so time to go. Thanks all, and blip. You're all awesome.
