Santa María de Sariegomuerte
This one is romanesque, not pre-romanesque, which means it´s dated from the 11th to 13th centuries AD rather than the 9th or 10th. In fact there´s written evidence of a temple on the same site from the 9th century but no-one is claiming to have identified its remains.
The site is entirely rural - it´s I guess 7 or 8 km into the countryside outside Villaviciosa, and a couple of km walk from the small rural settlement that gives it its name.
The most obvious differences are in the rounded door arch (which becomes more pointed late in the romanesque period as it transmutes into gothic), the presence of often-elaborate corbels, and the absence of the decorative pre-romanesque windows.
Nothing remains of the 9th century structure and what remains from the later structure has been amended and supplementedover the years. I believe it was seriously damaged during the Civil War but that damage has been restituted.
It´s a difficult shape to photograph, even with my 16mm lens: if you get close enough in to show the details, you lose the view of the whole. It´s easier from the back I´ve put in a full-frontal as the main image, and a side view and rear view as extras.
