Ditches
Today's photo task was to find something while out on our local walk before lunch. After the very wet winter there's now a lot of local activity clearing & maintaining the drainage ditches, so this seemed to be an appropriate subject.
My eye has also been taken recently by the patterns & shapes in the dried algae in some of the ditches. Sheets of dried, bleached algae have been left stranded on the adjacent vegetation as the water levels dropped. The patterns have been broken up slightly by the rain & wind over the last few days - the extra shows an image I took 2 days ago in the ditch across the road. The shapes remind me of the struts & cavities observed on the inside of a limb bone (once it has been suitably prepared for Biology lessons!)
