Unwrapping a Present

I came across this in the garden today. I don’t know what it is yet. I know it was there last year as it sits by a purpose placed marker (but no name tag). As buds go, it’s quite large and there are more buds developing. 

But look at the colour just peaking through - so bold and bright! It’s just like unwrapping a present. This is going to be one beautiful flower!
