What a girl!

Just back from a talk by Felicity Aston about leading 8 women across the Antarctic to the South Pole.

Her first job after leaving uni was to sign up for a 39 month stint in the Antarctic as a meteorologist with the British Antarctic Survey.

She also led the first British women's crossing of the Greenland ice-sheet (and had to ski back because they couldn't afford the airfare!). In 2012 she became the first woman in the world to ski across Antartcica alone.

And for a bit of light relief she's done the Marathon Des Sables as well.

She's a great speaker, very natural and inspiring. You'd never guess that she must have a will of iron!
