Another Place

After months of looking across the Mersey estuary in one direction it was finally time to look back from the other side!

M and I had a May Day walk along the beach from Crosby towards Formby and saw all 100 of the Antony Gormley sculptures in the installation ‘Another Place’, which remains one of my favourite public artworks. One of my favourite artworks of any kind, come to that.

Some were wearing shirts (it was quite breezy!), one was wearing a sandcastle on his head (which, rather pleasingly, remained in place even as high tide came and went!) but most remained as naked as the day they were created! (See Extras)
