Beetle on the terrace's daisies

I initially thought the beetle's shell was damaged but the markings are symmetrical so they are natural as confirmed by Wikipedia https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cetonia_aurata. They are also the big ugly larva I keep finding in compost. 
We learn something everyday!
