100 ABSTRACTS - NUMBER 24

There might be a bit of a theme this week - it’s amazing what you can do with a little glass jug, a scarf, a piece of jewellery and a slow shutter speed!  As I put the jewellery into the glass jug, the necklace part fell into a heart shape - perfect for today's Blip. 

It’s another wild and windy day, but the sun is trying to shine so Mr. HCB has gone out for a walk with his friend, Barry.  Meanwhile, after making about 150 cards yesterday, I am busy writing to several people, sending birthday cards and generally just chilling out. 

Despite hoping for gentle rain yesterday, like much of the country, we had torrential rain and very high winds, but thankfully, as far as we can see, there was no damage done in our garden, although some of the plants look quite battered.

This is number 24 in my 100 Abstracts Challenge for the Mamie Martin Fund, which supports young women and girls at secondary schools in North Malawi.  Reading from one of their leaflets, “Women who have been supported by the fund say that they now support other girls at school - Mamie would be proud of this legacy.  The MMF pays the school fees as well as some additional support for small but essential items, without which the girls could not remain at school.”  

We are pleased to be able to give to this fund and hope that our donation will help in some small way and to be able to raise awareness by doing this challenge.
