Salvins albatross

Thalassarche salvini.

This is a species of albatross I haven't documented here yet. This is a Salvin's Albatross., or a shy albatross. They are medium sized albatross or mollymowks with wingspans around 8 feet.

As their name suggested they are rather shy and hover in the distance far enough away to miss them or mistake them for other species. Beautiful birds they breed to the south in the remote Snares and Bounty Islands just visiting these shorelines in their epic perambulations for food.
