Mother duck

I dragged myself down to the WoL, and chose the lightest of the duties available - pulling up infant Himalayan Balsam plants. Actually it's really easy work, once you get your eye in (very different from spotting them when they're in full flower and towering over you). Guddled about down below West Bowling Green bridge for a while. That was where I saw mother mallard with her six little 'uns. She was being very wary - there was a huge gull cruising about just down the water, presumably hoping for easy pickings

Spent the afternoon marking - got further than yesterday, although not far enough really. Am still aching in most limbs, particularly the lower half of the body - guess that's a result of enforced sitting for extended hours on trains and station platforms.

Oh, and it's raining - there's a novelty.
