Manhole Music

As far as manhole covers go, this is a surprising and quite original one. Found it in front of No 8 Princelet Street off Brick Lane while wandering the side streets.
Now I could relate the story behind this, but unfortunately I couldn't hear what the tour guide (of a group that I was walking next to & was not part of!) was saying. Couldn't very well lean in unobtrusively and stretch my ears, but apparently it marks the first Yiddish Theatre in London. Well after some investigation (I can't let things like this go) I noted that a world famous viola player Lionel Tertis, lived at number 8. The Theatre turned out to be at No 3. So there you go!
