Blossoming Support
Today's image was taken on Hermitage Lane in Aylesford - this is one of the hoardings behind which the Royal British Legion is building a Centenary Village aimed at supporting the rehabilitation of ex-servicemen.
I just loved the contrast between the bold lettering and the candy floss pink blossom.
This shot was captured on the way back from a 45 minute 'pop-in' pint at one of our local pubs, The Poppy Fields, following what I can only describe as a smartphone farrago.
As I have stated before I am a bit of smartphone refusenik. My brother has one but is not a great fan either and regularly gets exasperated with it (he doesn't find it logical to use at all). When we arrived at the pub my brother tried to get the test and trace app on to his phone but his camera had got stuck on selfie mode. Eventually after some frustration and a lot of swearing he managed to add the app but then had to spend another ten minutes entering both our details. Hurrah - we could now sit down at a table!
Unfortunately, this did not mean we could just order our pints - we now had to scan a QR code and add the pub app to order our drinks (apparently you can't just ask for a drink anymore!). This took another half an hour as my brother could not see the screen on his phone when the sun came out!
After 45 minutes we had just about lost the will to live when finally his phone loaded the app and we got our drinks just as the wind whipped up and the temperature plummeted! However, by the time we headed home we began to see the funny side and were in fits of laughter.
