A Can of Worms

Or should that be a nest of vipers. I saw this snake yesterday at Berry Head, Brixham. It was very close to the coast path and a few people were looking at it. I assumed it was a grass snake. We posted this photo on the South Devon Wildlife F B site today. Immediately we were told it wasn’t a grass snake. It is a Florida King Snake and needs recapturing. It was probably abandoned. The post immediately set things in motion, and appropriate organisations and people being contacted, including the Devon Reptiles and Amphibian Group. Fortunately it is non-venomous. Apparently it won’t survive long if it is cold. To be continued...
