Boaty Day
Backblip
Such a brilliant day today - one of those where things just all happened perfectly!
It started very early with MrRoly dropping me in Truro at 7am so I could bring their boat up the river with Mike and Martin. It’s all a bit tense - watching your yacht dangle in the air is not ideal then finding the deep water channel out without running aground, we did get to 0.1m below the keel at Sunny Corner. The air turned a little blue and I just sat quietly out of the way.
MrRoly collected me from a heaving Mylor and we returned home for dinner and a power nap. The Boy was home briefly - he spent yesterday crewing in a COGS race: Black Rock to Gull Rock to Manacles and back again. Over 6 hours of sailing and they came 2nd. He was on a turnaround to get back out on a different boat to take part in a Regatta in the Helford!
MrRoly, Smallest and I headed down to the Sea Scout boat store to meet friends and start preparing for getting the scouts back on the water. A very successful couple of hours that resulted in one RIB making it out onto the water and a mammoth ‘to do’ list. We rewarded ourselves with beer and burgers in the sunshine outside the Watersports. Just perfect!
Back home again and another fleeting appearance by the Boy who’d come 3rd in the regatta and spent the evening in the club house! He disappeared off again with his crew mates and we settled down for the LoD finale.
