Good Friday, Orthodox tradition

Worshippers outside the Church, with candles, people singing. The streets were very quiet today, especially this morning and church bells tolled slowly all day. 
I enjoyed talking to one of my Bulgarian students this morning, comparing how he celebrates Easter to what's happening here - it's all so similar. It was a lovely conversation. And the bread they have is similar to the Greek bread which is similar to the Czech bread my mother's side of the family makes.
