Priory
Our second stay at the caravan has again been about settling in. We now have key cooking equipment, so pans have been used. And I’ve connected a TV up, so this evening we watched an exceptional BBC Young Musicians final from the Bridgewater Hall in Manchester.
In between times we’ve had a WhatsApp conversation with Mum, who remains in hospital. The issue is about sorting additional care at home for her return. The problem is that my sister has to return home on Tuesday and Dad cannot cope on his own and is missing Mum. Everything is on hold until working life returns after the bank holiday. Tuesday is going to be a day of urgent phone calls.
This afternoon we had our first trip out from our base, a 30 minute trip to Cartmel. It’s a lovely little town. A wonderful Priory (closed of course), Michelin star restaurants (closed also), and the UK’s smallest racecourse. Reputedly the town (or is it a village) where sticky toffee pudding was invented. We got to the Priory from the car park fine. J is still extremely nervous about any potential proximity to other people, understandably given the advice to shielders. Cartmel wasn’t too busy, but it was still a challenge so masked up and manoeuvring to keep distance she did very well.
