Busy busy busy
I've had such a busy day, I don't seem to have stopped!
I got up at 8am this morning to take part in Edinburgh park run; a free 5k (3.1 miles) run along Cramond and Silverknowes Promenade. They have these park runs all over the country. At my club last week, they told us that Edinburgh were going for a 500 people record this week. I haven't run a 5k in years, so I decided to go along.
This was not a good day for my first park run. I was frozen and soaked before I'd even started. The wind was battering against us for the first 1.5 miles out, but mercifully behind us on the way back. I just got a text with my time: 26.02 minutes - that's a PB for me. Considering my last 5k was 4 years ago, that's not surprising! I think I'll come back another week too and see if I can beat it! I just found out that I finished in 221st place and was the 41st lady out of a field of 424 parkrunners. I came 5th in my age category too! Woohoo!
I didn't manage to get a shot of the run. I'd forgotten my gloves and my hands were too cold. So instead you get a shot of my day ticket,
I'm so sad that I get excited when I get lots of journeys out of one ticket. A single journey costs £1.40. A day ticket costs £3.50. I managed to get 9 journeys out of this one. If I'd paid for each one, that would have cost me £12.60. So I effectively saved £9.10. Brilliant! Yes I know that's sad, but it does make me happy.
