Scarce swallowtail on thistle flower

I like these 'scarce swallowtail' butterflies... we seem to get more of them here than the ordinary swallowtails. I love the way the angle of the stripes makes them look as if they're going backwards when they fly.

I walked down the valley and got a lift from the bridge to the beach. It was a glorious sunny day and we had a really good swim.
Great to be able to walk a bit further each day!
