Farewell, April

Despite the rainy day we’ve had numerous birds and squirrels stopped by for a snack: nuthatches, cardinals, woodpeckers, ravens, mourning doves, pigeons, chickadees and bluejays (pictured). You’d think it would be a continuous feeding frenzy but it isn’t. They tend to arrive separately but then gather and become a larger group, tolerating one another, waiting their turn, but then - poof - disappear all at once. They will return one-by-one in 20-30 minutes. Most often the trees are empty so one must be persistent to get a variety of shots • I asked MrsP what tune she was humming this morning.
