Grey Heron

Went up to the loch and the young one was in the entrance overflow area. I gave her some fish but after a couple of bits she was not really interested. I walked slowly round the overflow area and she followed me. When I stopped she would stand very still then plunge her head into the water. I realised that she was finding her own food. After one plunge she turned to face me showing me a minnow she had caught (this is the photo) she then ate it and followed me round some more. I never fail to be amazed by this young bird. I will continue to take up a little fish but not as much as before. It was so good to see her hunt and extra special that she came over to see me without really wanting fed.
