Walk to Padstow
More unlocked
We walked to Padstow again but this time around the coastal path from Trevone around Stepper Point , and along the beach by Hawkers cove and into Padstow. We stopped to eat our picnic lunch at the Stepper Point lookout. It was so beautiful looking down onto the Camel Estuary. There are very low tides at the moment so the Doom Bar ( sand bar) at the mouth of the estuary is very easily seen. (Second extra.) This is a famous wrecking ground for ships and boats, more than 600 over the years. Today all was tranquil with just the gulls calling and the skylarks overhead for company.
This evening there was a bit of a sunset to be seen from the beach.
The first extra is the island of Newland by the entrance to the estuary.
