Whimbrel

They have been everywhere the last week but are by nature relativley shy and so don't let you get quite close enough for a decen tpicture. This was the best I have managed to date.
A big excursion today right down to the southern tip of South Uist, taking in the second charity shop on the island and a fish and chip lunch on the beach. 
Glorious sunshine but a stiff breeze stopped any temptation Tricia might have had to dive into the crysatal waters. Ruadh, rather surprisingly, decided she would have a swim and enjoyed the mill pond nature of the sea at the Prince's Beach, Eriskay.
