Day 119 - Tempting Fate

Today Mabel and I had a lovely walk that lead us to the river. We walked along the river a short distance, Mabel always careful not to get too close. A passer by stopped and asked if she would get in the water, I replied saying only if she slips and falls in. We both chuckled and said our goodbyes. Mabel and I then stood by the wall of the bridge over the river. For some reason Mabel decided to jump up on the wall as I was soaking up the view. How Mabel did not fall straight off the other side of the bridge I will never know. All I heard was the skidding of her paws as she came to a halt on the edge of the bridge. She would have encountered a sheer drop into the deepest part of the river if she had not stopped. Clearly I had tempted fate when I spoke to the passer by. At the time both our hearts were in our mouths - afterwards I could smile about it.
