Blackheath Vivid
For 2 weeks Blackheath is being graced by its own version of Vivid with nightly projections from 6-10pm onto the Victory Theatre.
The council is very conscious of Covid Safety and has employed local RFS volunteers as Covid and Security Marshalls.
Helen and I wandered down on Tuesday night and found it all rather entertaining. There was a maximum crowd of 6, including us and the 2 officials. Barriers were in place for Crowd Management and they showed us how they can stop the show if things get out of control.
I planned to return and blip this for Silly Saturday but realised I will be in Sydney then so went back tonight.
The show is really very good but unlikely to be sustainable due to red tape. We heard plans for others in the mountains were cancelled after the organiser spent 44 hours on the risk assessment.
The silly thing is you can barely move for people here on a weekend morning (without a Covid Cop in sight) but the only thing you’re going to catch after dark is a cold.
