Cold and dull day, threatening to rain. Caught the tram from the gyle to town - our first time on a tram probably since last summer. Walked through Princes Street gardens where there were lovely blossom trees and lots of colourful flower beds (extras).

Mum phoned in the afternoon. She'd had an appointment at the hospital today and it seems her arm, which she broke last August, has not healed properly and she now needs an operation to sort it out. Hopefully we'll be able to travel down to Devon when she has the op, to help out.
