There'll Be Time Enough for Sittin'.....

When the Diggin's done!

I love my garden. I love sitting in it, in the sun, reading a book, sipping my coffee, watching the birds at the feeders, the rabbits hopping about, the squirrels cavorting with each other. I love the flowers, the ferns, vines and pots of herbs. I love the "pretend" cats and herons and the coloured glass balls and mirrors..The common theme here is SIT.  But I can't do that until a whole bunch of other things get done. Unfortunately, there is a sequence involved in this garden thing. One has to work first. There is much digging , pulling, lifting and lugging to be done. Strength, stamina and energy are required and I suffer from a lack of all that. Partly it is because of my age and my physical ailments; partly it is because of my love of sitting. Right now, my garden is in need of someone other than me. Someone needs to get rid of the weeds, the dandelions, the thistles, and the shrubs that did not survive the winter; someone needs to edge and add mulch to the gardens, and re-seed or sod the entire back lawn. There is a lot of digging' to be done; so if i don't find someone soon, it'll have to be me and if that's the case, I may never get to the sittin' part! The only option I can see is to pave the whole yard, put plants in pots and call it a courtyard. I could happily sit in a courtyard...
