Bountiful beauty

I watered the garden this morning and am thrilled to see all the seeds sprouting.  We walked down Xwaaqw'um. The magnificent magnolia tree close to the beach is in full bloom. What a specimen! I blipped a single bloom in my other journal.
We've been noticing the condition of many arbutus trees and had heard the other day that they're not doing well. A quote from a recent article in the Times Colonist : "Experts say it’s due to a ­combination of factors — fungal leaf blights, successive seasons of drought, climate change and human disturbances."  Here's a link to the article if you're interested.
