Diary of an Edinburgher

By LadyMarchmont

Chilly!

JR went to the Commie Pool gym this morning. In fact, I think she actually jogged as she was a bit late. I did some fairly relaxed yoga exercises. Archie hung around, waiting patiently for his walk at some point in the day. Though he did have a big barking session when the chap who checks the gas fire every year dared to come in.

Later, we all went out for a walk. But it was SO COLD! I had my hat and scarf on (as well as everything else) but across the Meadows it was icy. My hands were cold! We mucked around a bit under the blossom (Extra), Archie chasing after sticks (and not bringing them back), but I was growing less keen on going a longer walk. JR suddenly declared that she was going home - it was just too cold to be bothered being out. We hurried back home.

JR then declared she was going ‘shopping’ - just locally. She has many favourite shops in Bruntsfield, and she’s so overjoyed that shops are open again. Sure enough, she eventually came back with a couple of prize items.

The excitement of life as we knew it continues - we’ve booked for lunch tomorrow at one of our favourite restaurants. Inside, out of the chilly wind, so no alcohol, which doesn’t bother us a jot.
