Mountain Bluet - Knapweed

A walk with a colleague this afternoon. We thought it better to have a physical meeting and get some exercise at the same time. No time to stop for photos though so I took this in my garden when I got back. It is one of the plants I brought back from SueT last year. My app informed me of its name. Why does a flower have "weed" in its title?
