Oh yes...today I transformed, from mild mannered (hahahaha) Sarah into BRIDEZILLA.

Today I went for afternoon tea at the venue that Corin and I were favouring as our wedding venue. By the time I left, I'd booked it!!!And the registrar. When I have made a decision, I get on with things! Bless Corin - he didn't even flinch - he might as well have said "yes dear"...he just smiled and said "yeah thats fine love"

Having done a huge amount of research, looking at prices and services available from different places in our area, the hotel that we had settled on in our heads made huge sense - location is easy to get to, good reputation, nice setting.

The General manager that I met with was so unbelievably helpful. Asked all the right questions (fortunately I had the answers to, so I passed that test!) and after a guided tour and chat about options, he disappeared off and came back with a very reasonable quote for what will effectively be the whole day, from start with ceremony in the middle of the afternoon, through canapes, drinkies, evening entertainment, food, bridal suite, champagne breakfast blah blah blah. And the bit that really swung it for me - unlike a lot of hotels, they will only have our wedding being held there on the day, AND they are licensed to hold the wedding outdoors in a really lovely enclosed courtyard....and they will even hold the decision till up to an hour before the ceremony, so if it suddenly looks like rain, they will transfer everything indoors into another location.

Oh yes...I'm excited now. And I have to live with this excitement for nearly twelve months!!!

So, family members who read this - your "save the date" cards with details will be in the post by the end of the week, but the date for your diaries is Saturday 3rd April 2010.

And don't worry - I won't be asking ANYONE for money. But I will be asking Dad, Chris, Val, Mum, Corin's Dad and brother and anyone else who's half nifty with a camera to take the photos for us!!!

On a different note, I think I might have committed myself to being the official wedding photographer at a friend's wedding 2 months after our own. Good job really - I think I might have bills to pay off!!!

Happy days

Raaaaaaaaah (thats my Bridezilla roar)
