Just out the box!

Exciting day with the arrival of my new toy! I'm so excited about using this to make my first garment. I have ordered the pattern and fabric which I hope will arrive by the end of the week. In the meantime I will be practising on scraps, of which I have many! I was pleased with my very first attempts so I'm hopeful that it is going to be all I thought it would be.
Mum went to view her new flat and complete the contract so it's full steam ahead to the finishing line now. There's plenty of organising to be done and authorities to inform but I have assured her that I can do all that and she doesn't need to worry about any of it, but of course she is! I will book my train ticket tomorrow so that I can go down several days prior to the actual move to make sure it is ready for everything to be moved in. Any of us going in and out of the flat on the day have to have done lateral flow tests with negative results and of course mum is upset that we all have to do that too. We're all happy to do it but just another little thing to worry her. Roll on this time next month when she will be in and settling down with many less things on her mind.
I had a message from a friend saying let's get together with another friend for a coffee. Such a welcome text. As the weather has become a bit more unsettled this week, we have decided to take flasks of coffee and meet in Ruth's shelter barn, so we can be inside and outside at the same time, just in case the damp stuff comes down! I shall be taking cake. I can't wait to spend some time in great company having a good old catch up!
