a visit to London Town

woke up with a recurrence of the pain in my right eye that i'd had last week. hurt when i switched the light on. took pills after porridge.

a cold and drizzly start again, off to London today, with Rach and Lynn to visit a customer. got the train from Hucknall, which was cheaper than the tram! changed at Nottingham, then i'm St Pancras bound.

quick journey there, can't see much point in that HS2 thing to be honest, from where we are its a nice 2 hour trip and i suspect the high speed will make it much of a blur!

into St Pancras...love this station. tube then to Westminster, and our meeting. very rainy when we came out, and got straight back on the tube to St Panc. the pain in my eye was now much worse, so much so i rang the docs only to be told no appointments til tomorrow.

we had lunch at St Pancras, and i took this pic as we left the restaurant to board the train. no champagne bar visit this time - that'll be in a month or so!

on the train my eye worsened, a real stabbing pain. i decided to go to the NHS centre in Nottingham, who then sent me to the QMC Eye clinic. turns out my cold has gone into my eye, leaving me with very painful viral conjunctivitis - which can last up to 12 weeks! ouch! Li picked me up from hospital, and then home.

went to bed early cos couldn't bear the light, hoping its better tomorrow.
