Cuckoo
When daisies pied and violets blue
And lady-smocks all silver white
And Cuckoo-buds of yellow hue
Do paint the meadows with delight,
The cuckoo then on every tree
Mocks married men, for thus sings he:
Cuckoo;
Cuckoo, cuckoo: O, word of fear,
Unpleasing to a married ear!
Love's Labour Lost
Cooler with clouds today but still no rain and everywhere is getting very crunchy underfoot and parched. The cuckoo flowers, or lady's smock, are popping up all over the place and very pretty they are. Happy birthday to pinkhairedlady - sorry no reference to 60 but a modest party is going on here, and I think I caught a fairy.
And I finally finished a blog that I started last December!
