COOPER'S HAWK

Angus & I often see this COOPER'S HAWK sitting on this same light
pole, when we walk our long route.  It is quite far away from our house, but I think it is a member of the family of HAWKS that nested in the pine tree behind our house. Check out my EXTRA & you will see where I got this idea.

They are beautiful,  majestic raptors; but they have the most awful screeching call.  All around our house are birds singing the most beautiful songs.  Then,  in the middle of the symphony of bird song, is a horrible racket.  When I hear it, I know they are somewhere nearby.
