Good Gifts

I was setting up for worship tonight and I said something like "I hope someone brings chocolate tonight." A few minutes later, someone turned up with this gorgeous box of Thorntons for our anniversary (which was two days ago so I've largely forgotten about it.) What fantastic friends I have!

During worship we felt to have a time of asking God for things. That's not something we do all the time but it felt right tonight.

He's a good Father who only wants good things for us. How often we lose sight of that fact when we come to ask for things - things he already wants us to have: healing, peace, justice, prosperity (that's not just about money by the way) change in stuck situations, and the very best for our families.

Good Father, good gifts, us his children. Why beg? We can come to him confidently.

Don't be deceived, my dear brothers and sisters. Every good and perfect gift is from above, coming down from the Father of the heavenly lights, who does not change like shifting shadows. James 1:16-17

Now let's crack open those chocolates...
