The key to the problem.

I managed to do something stupid today.
We went to our favourite garden centre which is not the nearest to where we live, the idea was to give the MX5 a bit of a run and collect some small plants.
All went well, I carefully placed the plants in the boot and as it was warm and sunny I put my jacket in there too and shut the lid.
Wallet, phone and car keys were also in there.
The owner of the garden centre organised a call to the rescue service, they came but were unable to get in. ( They dont take idiots home for keys locked in boot either)
So a taxi back home and a return with the spare key. Fortunately a friend of ours has a spare house key.
Job done after half a day.
