Bitter
It was a bitter wind this morning at 6.50am, and indeed, all day long! I had taken account of the poor conditions setting off at 6.30am to reach the chequered lighthouses at Port Glasgow in time for the moment of sunrise as I thought they would lend some interest to an otherwise dull shot with their bright green light.
Unfortunately the spot I had chosen did not have the best perspective on them and the green light bulbs must have run out as there was no light coming from them at all! There were masses of seagulls floating on the currents created by the wind but it was bitterly cold and the dullness and the wind made it really hard to get a half decent shot of anything. I think the project needs a bit more publicity as so far it's only me and the artist running it who have posted shots from the moment of sunrise (and his today was from his sofa!). It's supposed to be about where you are and what you see at the moment of sunrise, it's my choice to put myself outside looking up river to the east. I like an interesting challenge from time to time and I'm feeling quite creatively inspired just now so hopefully more people will get involved so I'm not the only one out my bed at silly o'clock to take photos!
One good thing was getting to my desk an hour earlier than usual and getting home in daylight at the end of the day. A nice evening chilling out with Carlos an the kids, a busy family day tomorrow then a day to do whatever I want on Sunday. That'll do nicely!
