Pond dipping

......well I made a plan last night to make sure I kept myself busy today, after yesterdays meltdown, and boy was I!!! Slept pretty well, woke up had the momentary realisation as usual, but only allowed myself a few minutes to wallow before getting up, showered, dressed in "scruffs" which included one of hubs tee shirts :-)

Ate my breakfast sat in the summerhouse as the sun wasnt properly on the patio area. Then got oit what i needed to make a start on clearing out the pond, it has all but dried up now. OMG, what have I started.......the root mat in the bottom is at least 6 inches deep, all the cables from the pump and lights were intertwined in them.....after a couple of hours I managed to free them up, plagued by hover flies and wasps, I tried not to flap at them, but did splash mud all,over myself and the floor on a couple of occassions :-/

I knocked off late morning and went nextdoor for a cuppa.... still there 90 mins later! We reminisced, a few tears but nothing compared to yesterday. I was talking to Dave about all hubs lovely clothes, in particular a lovely jacket he had worn just a couple of times, he knew immediately which one I referred to....I was saying I couldnt bear the thought of putting it in the charity bag, straight away D said, I'd love to have it, it would be an honour to wear it!! I was so happy!

Youngest son called me to say he and DiL were not too far away so were going to call for a while....they brought me a Costa too :-) We sat in the summerhouse for a good while.....so much for sorting the pond out lol ....I did get bakc to it eventually, for another hour. You can see from the blip what progress Ive made.....its a really dirty and smelly job tbh.
Reckon Ive dont 25/30% of it today.....probably do some more tomorrow. I had my blue gloves on when son & DiL arrived, DiL started to laugh and said I looked like "the yorkshire vet about to perform a procedure on a cow" lol

Rang sis in law whilst my tea was in the oven, had pork chop, sliced potatoes, carrots and sugar snap peas.....afterwards middle son rang, then I rang daughter, then my sis messaged me.....think Id got to the whole family, bar one :-( just in time to settle down for Line of Duty!

Think I may have achey hands, arms and knees tomorrow after all the tugging and pulling at those roots, but at least ive made a start...no going back now!

Thank goodness today's been a better day ;-)
