Diary of an Edinburgher

An abundance of blossom

JR had an outdoor Gym Bunnies session in the back garden of the bunny with the biggest sunniest garden. And at 10am, a much more civilised time than 9am. I had a relaxing morning out in the sun listening to morning radio. So much news!

Later, we took a walk down town. I knew the blossom was now definitely out in Princes Street, so off we went. It’s just about out in full in the Meadows. We walked past Kauai, where I had a coffee and... booked for lunch tomorrow! Very exciting.

The Gardens are looking splendid (Extra). We sat in the sun for quite some time, just watching everyone coming and going. Lots of dogs passing, of all shapes and sizes.

I had thought I might get the bus back, but decided to press on (8,969 steps). I didn’t even consider having an ice cream - just as well, as there was a queue right up the Vennel steps. If I have plenty of (sometimes extended) sit-downs, I’m good for the next bit - JR and Archie are happy to sit and wait patiently.

We were having a sit down in the Meadows, when along came Isobel, Archie’s erstwhile walker who is newly fledged doctor, and is heading off to Belfast for her first placement. She promised to visit us before she leaves town.

A VERY exciting day tomorrow! Not only a lunch out, but the gyms are open again. JR is delirious, and has booked in at the Commie Pool in the morning (as our wee local gym is being renovated). I am less delirious, but my BodyStreet torture sessions begin again. No - it’ll be a good kick start to doing some proper exercise again, and a diet. Possibly.

Must just finish my last pack of ‘Little Moons’...
