Reinheimer Teich

(Reinheim Pond) is a wildlife resort some ten miles east from our home. It functions as a flood control too. In the 17th and 18th centuries carps and pikes were reared for the landgravian court in Darmstadt. In the background of the main pic is Otzberg castle, built on a long extinct volcano.
