Railway Viaduct (Part 2)

Today's the day ......................... to go to the other side

Just to finish off the story of yesterday's blip, this is all that remains of the railway viaduct on the other side of the River Dee.  The nice thing is though, it belongs to us and it forms the back drop of our garden.

So, as a few people who have already been to visit us here pointed out yesterday, if the line were to be restored (?) - it would indeed be rather noisy.  The slightly strange thing is that, when the viaduct was built back in the 1860s, the house was already here - so, goodness knows how noisy it would have been back then.  On the other hand, at that time the house was an inn - so presumably business was booming with all those railway navvies looking for a spot of relaxation after a hard day's labour.

I blipped an old photograph of the house a couple of years ago, so you can see what it looked like when the railway was still in operation ....................
