a rare gull...

in the sky

i heard the cry - you know the one - it’s quite unmistakable - if you’ve heard it - the cry of a seagull - and to hear it outside - my house is truly rare - i grabbed my camera - and made for the balcony - hoping i wasn’t too late

and there overhead - was a sight i almost - never see in the skies - of my neighborhood - a lone gull floating - through a momentary clearing - of an overcast day - much to my delight - it was moving quickly - as they’re prone to do - so it was a fast snap - with a whispered thank you - and well wishes for a safe journey - then i turned with that all - knowing joy in my heart - that i had accomplished...
